Russian wine festival came to the end in Abrau Dyurso

Russian wine festival, organized by the Union of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia and "Abrau Dyurso" with the support of the Krasnodar region, took part on October, 27 in the village of Abrau Dyurso near Novorossiysk, where the production of Russia's most famous sparkling wine of the same name is located. 25 top Russian wineries, including "Fanagoria", "Kuban-vino", "Millerovskiy vinzavod", "Myskhako", "Sauk-Dere" and others presented at the Festival their best wines, as well as the new wines of the harvest 2011. The exhibition was divided into specialized segments in accordance with the territorial location of the producers, helping professionals to get the most vivid picture of Russian winemaking of the 21st century.

The event was attended by the representatives of wine trading companies, retailers and regional distributors, restaurateurs, sommeliers and cavists, managers and specialists of vineyards and wineries, representatives of federal and regional government agencies, oenologists and wine market experts.

For the first time among the visitors of the Festival were the leading producers of sparkling wine in Russia and Jean-Luc Barbier, the head of the Professional Committee of Champagne Wines (CIVC - Comite Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne). The business program of the festival included a meeting of the Union of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia, where the participants discussed the results of the 2011-2012 year and the prospects of the industry in the 2013th year. The meeting was attended by Victor Zvyagelskiy, a member of the Duma Committee on Economic Policy and Entrepreneurship, Leonid Popovich, the President of UWWR, Boris Titov, the chairman of UWWR and other officials. Also Association of sparkling wine producers held a meeting dedicated to the development of the industry in the nearest future.

Great interest among the professional wine community aroused the presentation of Russian wine project "Russian winemaker", which was created to support the domestic wine production and to promote the quality Russian wines in the domestic and international markets.
